Mavera was founded in 2008 by Mario Pereira on a belief that everybody is entitled to fair and efficient claims assessments. At that time, he worked as a claims adjuster, but with his background in IT, he quickly realized how he could make the process faster and more reliable.
To work on his idea full time, he quit his job and started the company Mavera. He continued working hard and found a secure and easy way with a customized case management system and network of independent medical advisors.
His first breakthrough came as he presented the ideas for Svensk Försäkring, who shared his vision. This made him confident of recruiting his first colleagues, starting building the system, and connecting the first medical advisors. 2010 the first insurance company started to use the solution, and the company has since then overgrown.
Today Mavera is the leading supplier of medical claims assessments and has handled over 250 000 cases. Our customers include the leading Nordic insurance companies, legal representatives, and committees. We are growing steadily every year, taking us closer towards our vision of becoming the European market leader of personal claims management solutions.
Feels good to do good
As Mavera’s founder has his roots from Guinea-Bissau, that country is close to our hearts. We are, therefore, an active sponsor of Fanda’s Small Miracles Foundation and to follow how their work changes the lives in small villages in Guinea-Bissau.
Trough the cooperation we also work towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations General Assembly with focus on nr. 6, Clean Water and Sanitation. Within that project, we want to contribute to providing clean water and sanitary conditions to an area called Safim. The goal is that it will result in decreased illnesses and a more positive development where women and children are freed from gathering water.
